Go Cubs, Go!

It is Pat's dream come true! Finally another person in our house to share his love of baseball with! Lord knows I am no help in that area! Pat had planned all summer that we would take August to a baseball game this year, even if only for a few minutes. He wants Auggie to be able to say he was at a Cubs game every year of his life.
Every year since we have been dating, we go to a Cubs game and admire all the parents who are sharing the experience and a hot dog with their children. We remember saying how fun that moment would be and we looked forward to it...A dad helping a little boy keep score, a little girl in pig-tails and a pink Cubs hat sitting on a parent's lap, the family sharing a pretzel, kids slurping up an ice cream tucked into a baseball helmet cup, stopping by the souvenir stand to pick up a ball, a t-shirt, a bat. It is the kind of thing that makes you excited to share an old pastime, no matter if you are the worlds biggest fan or not.
Here are a few of our favorite pictures...
We parked the car and were full of anticipation and smiles as we walked the few blocks to the park. It started out as a cool and sunny day! Perfect.

Here is daddy and August inside the ball park! It was a long walk up to the top where our seats were. Special thanks to Jill for the tickets!

A quick photo of mommy and Auggie before the players take the field. We had a great view and great seats, only it was cool, breezy and shady. It got really cold quite fast! We never did get a picture of the three of us together...

Just outside Wrigley Field...
We had a great day and enjoyed being together and sharing this experience with our son. And of course, after we had a hot dog, enjoyed a pretzel, and had our little guy sit on our lap to watch an inning, we stopped by the souvenir stand and picked up a baseball for the Cubbie's newest fan.
