Celebrations of Summer

Thanks for catching up with us...
This photo was taken on the day of our very first official playdate with the McHenry Mom's Group. We decided to join as we don't really know any mom's or babies in our town! We need some friends for mom and Auggie! We joined the newborn to 12 month group and lo and behold there are 5 babies...all of whom are boys!!! Edward, Joey, Benjamin, William and August. How crazy is that? No girls.

Speaking of no girls...the last weekend in June was the first official Cousins Campout at our house orchestrated and hosted by Pat. Of course it was the hottest and most humid day of the year so far, but everyone had a great time. As the sign says, NO GIRLS ALLOWED. Only the boys got to participate and the girls got to hang in the air conditioning. Thanks to Uncle Tony, the boys each got their own fishing pole and practiced casting in the back yard. They set up tents, made pizza pudgie pies for dinner, toasted marshmallows for smores for dessert and had a great time catching lightning bugs and twirling sparklers. When I came home from Girls Night Out, everyone was fast asleep in their tents and made it through the night. Sounds like they are looking forward to next year already.

Daddy and Auggie pose for a picture. Unfortunately, Auggie couldn't stay for the festivities as he was a bit too young, but he appreciated the awesome sign dad made for years to come.

Pat made goodie camp boxes for all the boys and as you can see, monogramed flasks for the dads. Everyone got their own retractable smore stick too! So cute and creative! He and I would make an incredible party planning committee!

It's true every parent must think their child is the cutest on the planet! We do! Look at that little innocent face? Wearing the most adorable sun hat! Little does he know he is in for his first swim in the pool!

Here Daddy dunks him in the baby pool at the Woodstock Water Works over the weekend of July 4th. We both so badly want him to be a water baby!! He didn't love it so much, but we are going to keep trying.

Happy 4th of July!
Love, Auggie
