We've missed you! So sorry that Spring and Summer have passed us by! The posts are getting farther and farther apart! We had a busy year so far and I can't believe I haven't shared all our excitement! Well, I do remember sitting on the couch, watching mindless tv after putting Auggie to bed and thinking...I should really post some pictures! However, the energy just wasn't there! However, now that the sun is shining (some days!) and my vitamin D is flowing again, I hope to be more up to date.
The most important event we celebrated this spring was August's first birthday! We celebrated his actual birthday in Chicago at the Children's Museum at Navy Pier. Then we headed home after a long day of playing and stopped by our favorite cupcake stand, Sprinkles, and got a few treats to take home! Auggie made all the ladies behind the counter smile and we ended up getting two free cupcakes! What a charmer! We let him have his first cake and frosting. Imagine that we had to force him to eat it! But once he tasted that sugary buttercream, there was no stopping him!
We followed that most special day by having a party for him with some family and friends a few weeks later. We planned for weeks and I agonized over little details that probably made my husband a little nuts! And then I got sick and threw half of it out the window once the day came! But it still turned out pretty darn marvelous! We decided on an Auggie Doggie party because Eden (or Eya as Auggie calls her) and Auggie are two little snack-sharing pals.
